Nestlé and Carrefour will use the blockchain

The Swiss food maker Nestlé and the Carrefour Market and IBM will use the blockchain in order to track deliveries of food.

This was reported in a press release published on April 15. Nestlé and Carrefour will use the IBM Food Trust blockchain platform to track the supply chains of instant mashed potatoes under the Mousline brand.

Now, customers of the goods will be able to scan the QR code on the packages of mashed potatoes and find out where the potatoes used in its production were brought from, as well as all the way made by the product to the store shelf.
