Starbucks and Blockchain

Starbucks US-based coffee will use Microsoft Azure Blockchain Service technology to track coffee production and supply.

Starbucks’s work on integration of the blockchain into operations began in 2018 due to a grain-in-a-cup initiative. The purpose of the idea was to track the supply of coffee from Costa Rica, Colombia and Rwanda farmers.

It was assumed that customers of coffee shops will be able to track the movement of coffee from the country of origin to their cup in Starbucks application.
